Call for Student volunteers for IAEA

Call for all Illinois student chapters to volunteer at the IAEA convention that is taking place in Lisle, IL November 1-3. Upon completion of the conference, you will submit your record of service and the reimbursement will be mailed to you after the conference.

This volunteer opportunity is only available to FULL TIME students (undergrads with at least 12 registered hours and grad students with at least 9 hours.) You will be able to attend the conference sessions, workshops and special activities while also meeting your service hours. This is a great opportunity to network with art teachers from around the state and become involved with your state professional association.

Beyond reimbursing students for half their convention registration, there is no other financial help that they can offer. But, the students are actually not paying to volunteer. You are paying for to register for the convention. The amount of time that you volunteer is minimal. It is six hours. So, students who volunteer will have plenty of time to attend other convention events. Plus, lunch for Friday and Saturday is included in the registration fee.

Attending the convention is a great networking opportunity. Last year, an NIU student receive three job offers from contacts she made at last year's IAEA convention.

Questions about the IAEA Conference should be directed to Steven

Jean's beautiful brain-child, The CHICAGO STUDENT ART EDUCATORS INTERMURALS, is happening December 10.

I hope you'll all come if you can, and I hope you'll present about your work. It's just 2 minutes, a "speed share," so NBD, but it will be nice to hear from a range of people.

Contact me or Jean for more info.
